I have looked at the code by Spitzbube a little but haven't read enough about ASCOM to understand where the problem is. On the software side I want to use the ASCOM drivers provided by Spitzbube as well as some planetarium and photography tools like Stellarium, Chartes du Chil, Nina, APT and RSpec. I also have a guiding cam which isn't setup yet. My setup currently consists of the Bresser Exos 2 mount, a Cannon 700d DSLR and cable by to connect the mount the windows laptop. It might be but as you have a different cable I think it's most likely an error with the drivers. I speak german too and I have read the forum post already, but they are talking more about the hardware side of things, which I think isn't the problem here. I really hope, you can go further with these information! Could you please share your setup (mount (Ascom or PMC-8), cable type, wiring, software versions) with me? Maybe we can get through this struggle together )įinally I found someone with the same problem. The most helpful threat (german lang) I've found was: Īt page 2 and 3 are two guys talking about the wiring of the original cable and providing some alternatives. I'm sure that there is some need to debug the driver communication using its log files, if reinstalling or trying other software does not help, but this is a long and rocky road. I've tried Stellarium, KStars, the Ascom-Tools and Cart du Ciel. I guess that I'm currently at the same point as you are: Driver connection via ASCOM or INDI is possible, reading the telescopes position "works" (but I don't blieve it's correct) and moving the mount does not work in any case. The original cable from Bresser is out of stock for at least until end of year. In the meantime I was able to update my handbox to version 2.3 using this cable ( \_yo\_dt\_b\_asin\_title\_o00\_s00?ie=UTF8
